Nick frequently performs in many different capacities both leading ensembles and as a performing musician himself. With singing (tenor) as his primary instrument, he particularly enjoys singing repertoire from musicals, recently achieving him the highest mark in his cohort (93%) for the final performance exam of his degree. From 2021-24, Nick sang in The Choir of Trinity College Cambridge under the direction of Stephen Layton, Steven Grahl and Michael Waldron, performing mainly classical/religious music (and occasionally soloing) on international tours, recording sessions and in weekly chapel services. In his capacity as a conductor and ensemble-leader, Nick held the prestigious position of ‘Director of Music' for Cadenza (a Cambridge-based student a cappella group) from 2022-24. During this period, he lead the group through two successful runs of shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and many performances around Cambridge (including several collegiate May Balls). Nick has also guest conducted several sessions for the Cambridge Jazz Festival Choir and, in 2024, orchestrated a joint charity concert between them and Cadenza. With the Drum-Kit as his secondary instrument, Nick was also a core member of the pit-band for an ADC pantomime and occasionally plays in performances and jam-sessions at Trinity College's 'Jazz in the Bar' evenings. Nick is also a classically-trained bassoon player and has performed in concerts with the Trinity College Orchestra.
